What day can I start my holiday?
Our normal arrival day is Friday, short stays may also commence on a Monday.
What time can I arrive?
Your accomodation is available from 4pm on arrival day.
Where do I get the keys from?
We ask all guests to 'phone us 1 hour before arrival - this is approx Bristol, Yeovil or Exeter, depending upon direction of travel. This gives us time to get to The Grange to welcome you. You will receive our mobile number
When are the facilities open?
The swimming pool opens daily from 9.30am to 7.00pm in the spring/summer, and 9.30am to dusk in the autumn/winter.
What time do I have to leave?
Guests are asked to vacate their accomodation by 10am on departure day.
Are bedding & towels included?
Bedding for all beds is supplied - however, we cannot supply bedding or sheets for cots. Each person will have a bath towel and bath sheet, with a hand towel in each bathroom/wc. If you intend to use the pool you will need to bring your own pool towels.
Are electric and heating costs included?
The hire cost includes all electric and oil heating costs - for cottages with open fires we provide the first basket of wood free of any charge, if you require further wood and logs they are available locally, B&Q sell split logs, and dried timber is available from a local shed manufacturers. The fireplaces are not suitable for coal or briquettes.
Is smoking allowed?
All of our accomodation is non-smoking, as are all leisure facilities.
Do you accept pets?
We can't accept any animals at The Grange - this is partly due to the fact that our peahen thinks that other animals are a threat, and there is a very high risk that she will attack them.
What shops are there in the village?
Cannington has a post office, Spar, a bakers , a butchers and small newsagents.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
The nearest supermarket is Morrisons in Bridgwater, where there is also also an Asda and a Sainsbury's. Tesco will deliver to The Grange from their Taunton store.
Is there a pub within walking distance?
The Friendly Spirit is about a half mile away and is easily walkable. They allow kids and have a very good menu. Just behind them is the Globe, they allow kids in the rear lounge and also do food. At the other end of the Village is The Kings Head, food is available and kids seem welcome in the restaurant area. . There are many other pleasant pubs within a few minutes drive - the Enmore Inn is particularily nice for a more upmarket pub meal.
Can you recommend caterers or florists?

Do you accept Stag / Hen type groups.
We will consider any potential booking on its individual merits - normally we request that all of the Grange accomodation is booked and paid for by the group, and we also ask for a mishap deposit of £50 per head - this is refundable subject to no mishaps!
What should we bring with us?
In simple terms, we do not supply any consumables - this covers not only foodstuffs (ie salt/pepper, sauces etc), but also includes items such as soap, matches, firelighters, toilet rolls or dishwasher tablets etc. Dont panic if you forget something, there are ample supermarkets within 10mins drive, and the Spar shop in the village opens until 10pm.

Are we a wedding reception venue?
No.
The Grange is an ideal location to organise self-catering family holidays, re-unions, family gatherings etc, but we do not have the facilities to cope with more than 44 guests, so we do not take bookings that include marquees etc.
Deposits and balance payments.
We require a non-refundable deposit to secure each property booked.
This reserves the property until 2 months prior to arrival, at which point the balance falls due.
Cancellations
We will accept a cancellation up to 2 months prior to the arrival date - you will not receive a refund of the deposit, but no further payment is due.
We do not accept cancellations within two months of the arrival date, this means that if you have paid the full balance and then cancel within two months of arrival you will not get any monies refunded.
As soon as we are notified of a cancellation we will re-offer the property, if we can obtain a fresh booking we will refund any amount we achieve minus the deposit payment.
Non-payment of balances.
The responsibility for paying balances is yours - we will tell you what amount is due by what date in a confirmation letter/email once we have received a deposit.
Where we do not receive a balance payment we will make reasonable efforts to contact you, if we are unable to do so we reserve the right to attempt to re-let the property, if we are not succesful we will look to you for payment of the outstanding balance.
