| | | | | | Take a walk around our gardens and you will find a few of our other residents :
Purdey, our resident peahen, lives in the branches of our Cedar tree. Purdey Update....she laid 4 clutches of eggs again last summer, but so far attempts to find a suitable mate have been unproductive!
There are loads of Ducks on the pond at the moment, so we expect a healthy amount of ducklings this year!
There is a family of Coots living on the pond, they were born here last year and are now fully grown. I would expect them to expand, as they are territorial they stay here all year round.
On top of these we have wood-pigeons, squirrels, a sparrow-hawk, and for a thankfully short time last summer, a heron - well, the fish were thankful it was only here for a short while! (Although I saw it again in December '08, its very persistent.)At the moment we do not have any hens - there is a family of foxes living nearby so we have relocated the girls to an organic chicken coop run by one of our friends.
